New to the Sport – Tempo Ride

July 30th, 2008

NTTS Tempo Ride
NTTS Tempo Ride

Last Saturday the NTTS group went for their longest ride of the season!  We rode just under 3 hours and traversed a great section of cycling friendly asphalt!

Nice job to all who came out.

Rides that span more than 2 hours have a way of educating us on eating and drinking properly.  Everyone stayed hydrated and kept their energy levels up.

Well done!

Driving Your Bike In Traffic

July 21st, 2008

Great video on riding your bike in traffic.  It’s a must see if you train regularly in any car saturated locale.

Coyote Point – Open Water Swim Coaching

July 13th, 2008

Brandon Nugent Swim Coaching

Open water swimming is not easy.  It takes guts to do it when you’ve never done it before.  By yourself you put yourself at risk, with a group, it becomes something else.

Coyote Point is one location that is great for first timers to head out into the open water.  It’s shallow, sometimes choppy, and has these random poles to help with sighting practice.  I highly recommend it.

This morning I took a group out and we had a blast.  We even worked on water exit, and beach entries.  It was good practice.  Everyone had a partner and we took turns drafting off of each other.

Perfect morning for a dip.
